FAQ about our Chemical Management System

Can exposure be logged on behalf of others?

Yes. Employees registered as users can be added when recording withdrawals where an exposure log is required. 
Which chemicals should be included in the system?

All chemicals that pose a hazard and for which a Safety Data Sheet is required. 
How is it determined which chemicals are subject to exposure logging?

This is determined based on information in the Safety Data Sheet and is regulated by legislation. There are no limitations in the system regarding which products exposure can be logged for. 
Is it the customer or Metizoft that keeps the database updated?

Metizoft checks and updates the safety data sheets in the database.
Can we add personnel ourselves?

Yes, personnel can be added by the customer. 
Is the system compliant with regulations?

Yes.
Is it available in multiple languages?

Yes. The chemical system is available in Norwegian and English. 
Does it take long to start using the system?

No, it doesn’t take long to start using the system. It can be operational shortly after the agreement is finalized. 
Is there a mobile app for the system?

Yes, a mobile app is available. 
Is the system complicated to use?

The chemical system contains everything needed to access the chemical register, inventory control, and log withdrawals with just a few clicks. 
Can the system be used by land-based companies?

Yes.

What happens to the exposure log if I leave the company?

Your exposure log will remain stored in the system regardless of whether you are employed or not. You can request your personal exposure logs at any time.

What happens to the exposure log if the company terminates the agreement with Metizoft or if Metizoft is discontinued?

Metizoft has committed to storing exposure logs for 60 years. This applies regardless of whether you leave your job, the company you work for terminates the agreement with Metizoft, or if Metizoft ceases operations. In the event of a discontinuation, Metizoft will transfer all exposure logs to the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority and the Norwegian Maritime Authority.
