Why do we have to provide documentation?
Ships are required to have an up-to-date Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM).
Metizoft assist our customers in staying compliant with current IHM regulations such as the Hong Kong Convention and the EU Ship Recycling Regulation.
This includes collecting material declarations from suppliers, onboard inspections, and updating the inventory of hazardous materials on board.
Suppliers of parts and equipment onboard ships are required to provide Material Declarations (MDs) and Supplier Declarations of Conformity (SDoCs) for their products. These documents declare if the items contain hazardous materials above certain thresholds.
